On 10-15-15, the Yonkers Police Department responded to Sacred Heart High School in the 4th Precinct on a report of a suspicious note. Members of the Intelligence Unit and our Youth Division began an investigation and an extensive search was subsequently conducted inside of the school. Both the school administration and the Archdiocese of New York fully cooperated with the investigation from the onset.
Investigation to date has revealed that a note with possible threats (no student names were indicated) was found inside of a classroom. The note was found to be a handwritten exchange between two students, who both related that they did not intend anyone else to read said note. The note was mistakenly left behind in the classroom by the students and subsequently brought to the attention of a teacher. After a thorough investigation with school administrators into this note and its origin, no credible threat was found by Detectives. There will be no criminal charges filed at this time in relation to this incident.
