Fr. Matt Janeczko, Campus Chaplain, and Ms. Frances Acosta, Service Coordinator, announced a revised service program, beginning with the Class of 2020.
In a letter to the students of the Class of 2020 and their parents and guardians, Fr. Matt and Ms. Acosta praised Sacred Heart's dedication to moving beyond the walls of the school into service for so many. While the requirement (that many students already surpass) of 25 hours of service per year will remain the same, beginning with this year's 9th Graders, students will be asked to participate in at least one small group discussion with their peers and to write one reflection on a service experience each year.
The goal of this enhancement is to invite students into a deeper reflection on the meaning of Christian Service and the needs of their brothers and sisters in Christ.
