The Irish extended their lead in the second half with Rory Gallgher adding two more braces, bringing his tally for the day for three. Senior Tony Nwaeri added a fifth and final goal for the Irish.
Senior Liam Coffey received his first career start in goal, being largely unchallneged until he stopped a penalty shot late in the second half. Cathedral scored once just a few minutes from time, but it was too little too late.
