After a thorough and comprehensive search, Sacred Heart High School is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Kyle O’Donnell as our new Principal, effective August 1, 2022.
Mr. O’Donnell comes to Sacred Heart High School after 15 years of service to Cardinal Spellman High School in Bronx, NY. During his time at Spellman, Mr. O’Donnell held the roles of science teacher, coach, moderator, Director of Admissions, Assistant Principal of Academics, Summer School Principal and Athletic Director. We feel that with the wide variety of responsibilities that Mr. O’Donnell held and excelled at, he will be a welcome member to the Sacred Heart family. In addition to his past experience, Mr. O’Donnell impressed the search committee with his enthusiasm, vision, dedication to Catholic education and his desire to work collaboratively with our faculty, staff, and advisory board to provide our students with a high quality college preparatory education and to ensure the vitality of our school into the future.
Fr. Robert Abbatiello, O.F.M., Cap., President of Sacred Heart High School, commented on the new hire saying, “I am happy to welcome Mr. Kyle O’Donnell as our Principal. I am confident that he will be instrumental in helping our entire school community, especially our students, to continue growing and succeeding. I look forward to working with him, especially in celebration of our 100th Anniversary!”
Mr. O’Donnell received a Master of Science degree in Education from the College of Mt. St. Vincent and a Master of Science degree in School Building Leadership from Fordham University/Grand Canyon University. He holds Secondary Education Teaching Certificates in New York and New Jersey. He has received various awards and commendations highlighting his dedication and leadership roles in a variety of settings.
