Sacred Heart High School announced a partnership with Willdan and ConEdison that will replace all one thousand eight hundred and seven light fixtures on Sacred Heart's Campus with high-brightness, low-energy LED lights. Installation of the lights will begin immediately with plans to complete the project in time for the beginning of the second semester.
Sacred Heart's President, Rev. Matthew Janeczko, noted that the new lights will provide several immediate benefits to the school community. "In addition to providing immediate savings, these new lights will reduce our energy footprint and bring cleaner, brighter light to our classrooms and hallways," Janeczko stated. "What is more," he continued, "it is a clear sign of Sacred Heart's commitment to future generations of students."
The LED project was undertaken after extensive research of possible vendors. A series of tax credits, along with partnership with Sacred Heart Grade School, a member of the Global Regional School System, has made what was thought to be a dream, a reality.
In further efforts to maximize savings, Sacred Heart recently conducted an energy audit of its entire campus, negotiating more favorable rates for gas and electric consumption.
